wipers stopped working! Motor still runs! I know where wiper motor is located but I can't see a way to get to it. The vehicle is a 2000 C 230. The motor is located center rear of engine but I can't see it. I can't figure out how to get to it.

This requires removal of the plastic parts below the screen, can be quite difficult as the clips that secure the cover are awkward to get at in the middle near the bulkhead (the middle of which can be removed for easier access, but is not easy to remove itself). first remove the screws holding the rain channel and remove both sides, remove the foam filters, remove the center part below the wiper, then unclip the cover. sounds like your mechanism has broken, quite common, but can be avoided by regular lubrication of the sliders that move the arm in and out during the wiping.

Check the nuts at the motor crank and the back of the drivehead as these have a tendency to slacken.
