Wiper Problems

I am new to the site and not as good as the views I have seen, so bear with me please. I have a 1992 SL300 24V and have trouble with the wipers. I know that in cases of problems they will work at full spead but is there any relays to check, or anything I could do before I go to a dealer please.

Hello stumpy it just stoped working and then I had to switch it to stage 2 which as you know in the book they say emergency see your dealer it will not work in any of the stages except the fast one but all else on stick is fine.

My wiper is working when switched off. Going in next week and will post the results. Suspect combination switch

I had similar problem.I prised off end cap on stalk and cleaned the contacts.This cured the "wipers working on their own" syndrome.I'd try this first as a combo switch I suspect is pricey!

LeeW i am interested in how you done this as i am having the same problem wipers staring when stalks in off position. is it a simple task one i can tackle whilst i am at work? or shall i do it on the weekend. any help from anyone would be much appreciated.
