Previously suffered the stuck wiper problem-freed-off with wd40. Tried same remedy today- didnt work, sticks in same position each wipe. With assistance will move but always sticks at same place. Can these be repaired or binned. How do you remove? :-?

C Class wiper woes

Make sure you really have the catches referred to in the link above. I spent ages with a mirror and tiny Allen keys on my 1999 CLK (same setup as C Class) before I found there weren't any. The large plastic cover just levers off if you pull hard enough round the edges.
His tip on moving the wiper out of "park" first is spot-on though, makes the job a lot simpler.
DO be very careful removing the wiper arm as the bottom bit can spring back very forcefully and crack the windscreen.

Same here!!! It turned out my cover was held on with two screws. One at the top and one at the bottom.

thanks for all the posts... stripped the mechanism. everthing worked ok. The motor was knackered-the plastic gears were worn out. now replaced with a second hand unit. up and running!
