wipers only work when going over a bump

Wife rings during a downpoor on the way home from shopping, wiper not working! talked her through checking the fuse, not that, decided to wait for the rain to stop, when closed bonnet wipers started for a while, then stopped, worked each time car went over a bump!!!

New motor fitted 3/4 mths ago, am assuming a lose connection but where do I start looking?

Any help would be gratefully received

You have more chance of a bad connection in or around the relay, thats the big one

have been looking for the relays but now feel very incompetant as cant find them. The only likley place seems to be in a box behind the fuse box so took out the 2 screws only to find it appeared to be part of the fuse box, am i in the right place and is there a knacck to getting the top off? Please help as am now expecting another call from wife who has taken the car again and yes its started raining.

Yes you are in the right place but there may be more screws, the lip around the fusebox is attached to the relay cover, it's fiddly but once you loosen the screws the cover slides forward.See here;http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=717.433&CT=F&cat=15U&SID=54&SGR=040&SGN=03.
