Hi everyone

This is my first post since purchasing an Sl500 2002 R230.
My problem is that once everything is shut down and switched off, my consumer battery still has a parasitic drain of over 3amps. I've had a star diagnostic done which only confirmed my knowledge. But no indicator as to where or how long the fault may take to find. My thinking is surely there can't be too many circuits left live once the ignition is switched off and key removed. Do any of you good people have a fault flow chart I could follow?
Thank you
David

Comand is a regular for not shutting down.
You could switch the Comand off before you turn the car off and see if that reduces the drain

77069.jpg U can get a blade fuse test meter and that goes into one fused circuit at a time and will indicate whats drawing what after shut down

Only issue with that is that you’ve to remove the fuse which can shut the system down so it doesn’t show its drawing power.
You can with a multi-meter measure the voltage drop across the fuse and the one drawing current will show a drop (it’s not much but it’s enough to show what’s drawing power)

You would need a multimeter to measure mV and the PD conversion sheets for a ready conversion to current flow in the circuit under test.

And if ur in car key out fuse out fuse tester in, key on, key off that will give a reading of key on, key off wait see car go to sleep take second look, see reading.

This is the best way to check it out and use the attached charts. This avoids pulling fuses and waking up systems and all you need is a multi meter. Good luck.

Hi all
Thanks for the information and help. I forgot to mention that I can hear a fan running continuously at the rear of the command centre. That is with everything shut down. Sat in the car for over 30mins and fan stayed running.
Cheers
David
