Your Mercedes
BMW 525 Diesel Touring
Ask the dealer to take the tails back and order the proper loom....

All Merc dealers will print off a quotation for you if you go into the parts dept. The quote lists your VIN and the appropriate part number for the quoted item. Obviously take your VIN into the parts desk and ensure he keys it into his computer.
There's a reasonable level of discount (15-20%) available on most MB parts so don't be afraid to ask for it. Wherever you buy it from I'd give them the VIN and let them order the correct part. That way, should it be the wrong part, you can return it

Before the garage starts fitting it they should lay out the old one against the new one and check it is 100% correct. If the new part is wrong it's best to find out straight away

Hanz...my car has done 142K and was driving like a dream until the head gasket problem.
Boldie...thanks for the tip on discounts. Love the cars on your website.
Phoned a dealer today who said Mercedes had sold 80 engine wiring looms this year and only had three left in stock accross the country. What do we think of that??? he quoted £554 + VAT. These lovely cars are incredibly expensive to maintain.

Sorry Milly I checked today and no 124 parts information available here. Seems there is no call for 124 parts in Asia. Found this a bit strange so contacted a friend in Hong Kong, as I know there are 124s there, he said they have to order from Germany and they dont have that part of the parts catalogue either:confused: Hope someone will come up with an answer soon. Best regards.

No 124 parts in Asia, very odd, you were going to look it up, there is only one data base for the whole world.
This helps me to understand your postings so no 201 either, or 126 or 210 and all of the rest:confused:    I have looked on the MB web sites where you are,and there are some very big outlets.

Yes Malcolm there are eactly two big outlets and they are located in Shenzhen and Hong kong and they are call Zung Fu. This is the main dealer for China. But we are an indipendant as stated before. We dont have any 124s in China, But they have in Hong kong. I dont have any contacts in Zung Fu Hong kong. And our company does not have the full parts catalogue.

I'l go to 16 %

If the brits want to sell off Rolls royce and mini and now rover then what has that got to do with Mercedes? Has UK any car industry left? NO its all owned by China, so thank you for reminding me. PS, what is not owned by china is owned by germany.:D

Dont worry about it, I believe that there are or have been MB 123 /124 taxis in every country in the world.
I had lunch out yesterday with a friend and his son was watching a 1990 DVD of two kung foo gangs in china and the bosses all had MBs
