Hi,

I recently bought a CLK200 Elegance and found that it had a serious problem with the handling at high and low speeds. I had one rear bush replaced which was apperntly broken but the problem still persists?

Thanks,

Hi there mate,

The most common cause of steering wheel wobble is road wheel balancing. Get this checked first, and then if the problem persists then come back to us with a few more details of your car such as age and mileage and exact syptoms and we will try to help you further.

Hi Ellsy,

Thanks for your reply

Its a 1999, 90,000M, 2dr.

Its sort of like side winds from the left and the car finds every dip in the road but when I put the peddle down it sort of straightens itself out.

The tracking and balancing was done with the bush. I was told the other bush('s) might not be tightend enough to work with the new one could this be the case or something more serious?

Regards,

Have a look at the front lower arm bushes. I have done loads of them recently.

Will do mate cheers for your reply,

I'm taking it to another garage in about an hour, someone also told me to get them to check the bearings. I just hope it isn't going to be nothing to major.

I just went out and had a good look under every wheel, I have no mechanical knowledge but didn't see anything that looked broken or out of place. All the arms looked quite good, however I couldn't see the new one? Also I noticed on one front wheel theres a wire coming from the middle linking onto one of the arms, on the other side its missing but there's a screw and bracket for it?

Kind Regards,

Alex
