Hi

Has anyone ever gone through the process of re-aligning the front bumper on a W107? Its met another car at some point - the nearside end is lower than the driver's side.

The bumper itself appears straight enough - in excellent condition.

What do you think is involved, removing bumper, mounts, and bashing them around a bit so they are aligned, or perhaps replace the mounting brackets with new/straight ones?

Any advice, spares, or offers of help appreciated!

Cheers,

KJ

It will be the bumper irons that are bent, when they are off, quite easy to straighten up. Put some WD40 on all of the fixing bolts a couple of hours before you start, makes lif easier.
This is a common problem of cars gone by.

I fixed my wonky bumper - one day i just walked up to the car, applied foot pressure to the top of the highest side of the bumper, then jumped on it repeatedly, and it gently moved back into place. Totally straight now - brilliant!

An SL is for life.....
