WOOD VENEER TRIM SCRATCHES

Any suggestions for the removal of small scratches from my centre console wood veneer panel. Another usa forum suggested 3M Plastic cleaner but that doesnt seem to be available here. I guess any  mild polishing compound might do ,but I would like to hear  directly from some-one's successful experience!!!

I used a furniture product called DESCRATCH which consists of a set of coloured waxes.  Some specialist woodworking shops sell these waxes individually matched to the colour of your wood.

thanks for the info. I used turtlewax safe-cut paste with some success, but will keep a look out for  the "descratch" you recommmended. cheers Graeme

I use Brasso (wadding or liquid).  I've even used it to remove the scratches from my sunglasses. It takes a lot of rubbing so wear a glove otherwise you'll end up with a blister like I did.

Takes bl##dy ages but you get a great result.

If they are deep scratches, the coloured waxes are your best bet.

Just tried 'Cleaner Wax' (as per Meguiars/ Zymol) with great success on normal 'wear & tear' scratches. Worth a try for a concours finish.

A fine cutting compound such as Autoglym Paint Renovator works well. Finish off with a coat of wax/polish for a shiny, smooth, finish.

This method is good for fine surface scratches, but deep scratches will require a filler wax, as mentioend above.
