Outside of the MB range, whats the worst MPG you have suffered with your cars????

I have to stake my claim in at 8MPG from an RS 3.1 Ford Capri.

Any Range Rover drivers beat that

I had 9 mpg once in my bmw 1987 735SEi, after a "goodbye" drive, driving it in manual mode, just before i sold it for scrap, poor thing. average was 24.2mpg, but got 30.1 once on a motorway run. that car was running on a closed loop multipoint LPG conversion. gas was costing me 32p a litre as opposed to 85 for petrol so cost the same as 23mpg for the worst, 64 for average and 80 at best. i should have kept that car and just bit the bullet and spent the money to get it through the mot but i couldnt justify spending £470 on an exhaust for a £220 car, plus balljoints and stuff.

Sorry I must bow down to your inefficiency.

Even when my Classic RR auto's distributor wasn't advancing properly, I couldn't beat 12 mpg. Although I sure later models try harder.

worst ever was a range rover digging itself out of a rather messy green lane - 3 gallons for half a mile but I suppose that doesn't really count :)

some of the other horror stories

4-5 mpg from my 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado when driven "enthusiastically".

7 mpg from a heavily tuned Rover V8 powered triumph GT6 special

6 mpg from the same engine bored out to 4.3 litres and bolted into a mid engined VW beetle.

plenty more single figure ones from cars such as 3.3 litre vauxhalls and 3 litre Mk1 granadas.

It's such a shame that we have such expensive fuel these days and so many speed cameras :(

i got 5mpg out of a grand cherokee going up a steep hill. 23mpg out of it on a motorway and 99mpg out of it in the car park, with the engine switched off.

I do have access to a vehicle which does a staggering 0.8mpg. and thats taking it easy! you should the tyre wear on it too. not much of a clue but it does have 710bhp and maybe a V8 TWIN turbo engine in the back.

not quite.......mind you, an axle broke on one of them yesterday and the other has transmission oil getting into the radiator so 2 are a bit rubbish at the mo. we hired one to help out and its brakes failed when we tested it today.

i dashed off to the bucket of sand in the office, shoved my head in it and it all went away.
