wearing 225 or 245 section tyres, fit okay on my 107 SL. I keep thinking that the 7J ET is 25, so an 8J rim would need to be ET 12 ish to maintain the set-up. Am I right or wrong?

Myros,

Your maths are correct but is the offset on the 7J correct? You can measure this by measuring the overall width/2 and subtract from the depth of the mounting face from a straight edge across the inside face of the wheel.

Dead right Clive

as i have 7J ET 25s on at the moment. Would 8J ET 25s foul the suspension or body work. I can't try before I buy.

Myros,

Sorry, I can't comment on the fit to the body or the suspension but the 8Js are nearly 14mm closer to the suspension components, which I suspect (without knowing the detail) will foul. The 8Js are also 12mm further out into the body, which probably won't foul.

With the above info you can make your own insitu assessment.

my munchkins

want to see their dad in the daylight, and it gets pretty dark in a 107 wheelwell, even with the lights on, in my garage. I think I'll wait for some 8j 15-10s to appear , or some 7j 25s. No rush as they say.
it disturbs the bats less as well..........
