Chewie was your car starting and running before you changed the fuel pipes ..disconnect the electrical plug at the back of the fuel rail and crank the engine and see if that is the warning you are getting. then get back to us

chewie is there any indies near you or even any diesel mechanics, i do think you need someone to look this car over for you.I also think that u may need it put on a star diagnostic this problem is very hard to diagnose simply because the fuel system needs to be checked, there is a gauge that you can fit to the fuel rail to check the pressure.. U may even have a faulty flywheel sensor.. where in the world are you. and some of the techie guys may live near you

Thanks for getting back to me, thought there may be something deeper!, Im near Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK (back end of nowhere!) and have used local Independent for service etc, they had no idea and wanted car for at least a week, maybe longer and I didnt fancy the bill much, for a seemingly straightforward job, changing o rings/fuel lines as advised by many previously on this forum and others that that was where my problem was....maybe not! what might it imply if there was no error message, should there have been one?
