so, i have a flat bonnet badge to replace the target. Its really designed for the w204 rather than my 203. It fits fine except a very slight rocking movement due to the curvature of the bonnet. As the title if i was to apply a small blob of clear silicon under the badge to hold it flat to the bonnet, would this degrade the paintwork at all?
Just in case i have to replace the badge or indeed go back to the target one day.
kind thanks for any help

No harm whatsoever to original or properly cured paintwork, best to use a bathroom type silicon as it is anti mould and generally a better quality

you should be fine, could you not find a cheep target from fleebay?

1+ for the bathroom type, will last much longer and be much more durable.

Please do not use silicon as if ever the car has to go in for paintwork
this will cause no end of problems for the bodyshop and will last for weeks !,
just use badge tape from ebay :)

Thanks Matt
i have actually removed the target for the bonnet badge. I know many love the target but i like the grill with badge and the flat badge for the bonnet. Trying to make it look a little more modern and sporty.

When I needed half a dozen spots of Sikaflex, I called at my local friendly bodyshop & asked nicely (I've spent a good few quid with him over the years). He gave me the end of a tube!
Worth asking IMHO :D
