They don't even look like they fit the car they came from!

They probably look a bit too Del Boy anyway

offset is wrong, as you say they stick out of the arches, could possibly fail the MOT also.

What about 16" wheels from a CLK with 205/55 R16 91W?

Would they fit a W202 C250D ok?

It says ET37 so I think thats within the same range as the CLK

Jools they should fit fine. I have tried 16" CLK alloys (ET37) on my old W202 and had no problems at all.

What about SLK wheels?
Do they have a different offset front and rear?
Would they look wrong on a C Class?

170/171/202/203/208/209 wheels all cross compatible. SLK is either 170 or 171.
Some wheelsets have different offset on rear.
SLK wheels usually fine on C Class. Need specifics to help more
