Gents,

Is it possible to change the wood trim on the steering wheel with the wrap suggested??? If so, simple job or a pain in the backside???

Cheers.

Hi, have finished centre console and door trims, have posted pictures under "centre console refurbished"
Dont think it would look good on steering wheel though.

I believe all mercs has real wood not fake... though the wood is extremely thin and wrapped on aluminum case and covered plastic. But there IS wood.

And totally different thing is how good looking the merc wood choice is, I admit carbon look would be better in some cases...

You are absolutely correct, it is real wood veneer, i think they put so much clearcoat on top, it looks and feels like plastic, my mistake, sorry mr Benz.

Lower the seats, prise off the side covers starting a the rear.
remove the screws arrowed.
remove the ashtray.
lift the gear lever cover over the knob and undo the collet and the knob pulls off
prise the top out and lift the whole thing up and unplug it
