Wrong Water Pump?

I've had a new Febi water pump delivered.
It is the same fit as the original,
but differs in that the original pulley is smooth for the back of the belt to run around it,
the new pump pulley is ridged.

I think the new water pump pulley would eat into the back of the belt, and so should be returned.
What do others think.

I guess I'm hoping I can rebuild the mo mo and get running again.

I don’t suppose you can interchange pulleys other than that it I’d take it back

The pulley's are friction fit, no bolts.
The shafts are slightly different sizes.

I've ordered a new one, hopefully it'll be here Tuesday.

I can only talk about the old water pumps. the pulley was held on with 4 bolts . You could swap them over . And the same with the Vano the part the pulley fits to is an interference fit ,,,but the pulley itself is bolted on with 4 bolts so you can take it off . .vano water pump picture .
