Hi all
I have a X plate E320 Avantgarde estate with 152000miles on the clock and I am getting a constant humming noise from the front end. It was in a garage getting the cats replaced and they had a quick look and said it was the front passenger side wheel bearing required replacing. They then quoted me a price that made me think they were joking at first so I have decided to do it myself.
I have two new wheel bearings as I thought I may as well change both so the question is how hard are they too change?
I have replaced wheel bearings before on various cars(my mk1 and 2 golfs, focus st etc) but are there any hidden complications with this?
I had a look for a manual or reference online but couldn't find one.
Another question is my engine management light is on....it is coming up right and left catalyst performance insufficient or something along that line. Problem is the first time it came up both cats were replaced and the lambda sensor and it has came back on with the same fault. Anyone any ideas what it could be.
Bar these problems its still the best car I have owned for comfort and performance
Ohh and what temp should they sit at as mines sits just above 80 on the temp guage and when in traffic goes to about 85....is this normal
