Thanks for taking the time to read this....

I recently had my front wheel bearings replaced, with Febi units. When I collected the car, the guy said that one of the ABS pickups must have been faulty as the car was displaying several different faults (ABS/ESP/ Tyre warning unavailable). I have had the codes read as follows: -

442800 Left Front Axle RPM sensor has a mechanical fault current & stored
446800 Right Front Axle RPM sensor has a mechanical fault current & stored
457500 At least one of the RPM sensors is delivering an incorrect rotation direction.

The faults were cleared, and the live values were observed on a test drive, all 4 wheel speeds were consistent with each other within 1-2 miles per hour.

However the fault will not clear even with a Star diagnostic.... any ideas...?

I agree, but I can't figure out how all wheel speeds are consistent in star diagnostic......

Hi, having the same failure code 442800, replaced sensor but no help, how did you corrected this problem on your car?

I had ABS/ESP lights on my 2005 Eclass after work on the suspension. On mine I was lucky and on the advice of another member on here, I went to an empty car park and did a full circle on full left lock, then full circle on full right lock and this turned the lights off. Hopefully may work for you.
