Once they are lit up and auto adjusted they should remain so. what exactly are they doing.. still auto setting themselves. I would check that the motor is switching off when the lighs have set themselves

If the are strobing the power supply to the lights must be scoped, I cant think of any other way

Diode gone in the rectifier pack of the alternator?

Sounds like the main car voltage is swinging around, needs a scope or a dvm with bargraph to see it happening and confirm a diagnosis.

Today i have been trying to sort this, first i took the power lead off the altenator then started the engine and they stopped strobing,so me thinks that it is the alternator, until i put jump leads from my 07 sprinter van to the ml battery then started the van and the lights started stobing again,so now i am confused again, anyone got any ideas ?

I have today finally got them sorted,it turns out that the car originaly came with ordinary lights, but the person that i bought the car from had replaced them with xenon lights, but to make them work the car has to go on a star diagnostics and have the ecu programed to having xenon lights fitted, so it has just cost £68 to get them fixed, which i am really happy about cos now i can stop pulling my hair out
