Xenon headlights ?? ML 270

Do all ML270 Cdi's have Xenon headlights ??

Just look at the reflectors on the dip beam they are quite large and distinctive around the bulb area, some of the later cars have Bi-xenons but the main beam option I think is a little over the top unless you like to rally.

I cant decide what my ML has but the main headlamps are not very bright at all even when I adjust them up or down, full beam is ok though.

Sounds like they are halogen, you can always upgrade the bulbs but take advice first. Just done a 50 mile trip tonight and its one of those nights where the tarmac just seems to soak up the dip beam, really pleased with the xenons on mine.

Not quite, Xenons are also available with serated front plastic (as per our C).

If you look head on at your car, does it look like a Puppy Dog? ie, 2 big round discus eyes yelling to be played with? If so, its Xenon (other tell tale sign is when you switch on, they arent instant on, but flick on like a flourescent light).

Actually, late ML's have the round glass eyeball even if they don't have xenon lamps. My neigbours 2001 ML320 has xenons, my 2004 ML270 does not, but from outside the lamps look identical!!

Apart from the circle, as type 49 says if there is an adjuster = no Xenon

The height adjuster is certainly only on halogen lamps, as you say

Then it seems that the ML is the odd one out, we had a threadyesterday on the same thing. PS mart commented that they look almost the same.

I was at first unsure whether mine were xenons, but it is obvious once you have seen both types switched on - halogens are normal/dull/yellowish , xenons are sparkly/bright/blueish .
Oh, and I really like my xenons!
