Hi Folks, I am a new member and still trying to navigate around the site. Does anyone know whether I need beam deflectors when driving in France when my car is fitted with Xenon headlights? Thanks, Tony Treble

Some have a lever to adjust them for driving on the continent. Check the handbook for your vehicle.

Hello and welcome

Most have a flap that cuts off the high part of the beam, and most have a lever inside the lamp to change them over.
With an Email address I can send the details

Hi Mike, I've looked in the owners manaul but can find anything relating to this. MB dealer wanted me to buy a deflecter kit at £28 for 'single use' only. I don't think so!

Hi Tony
Malcolm is sending you some instructions. He is the busiest person on this forum and is a fount of knowledge when it comes to Mercedes Benz. What he doesn't know doesn't exist. I would wait his advice. If you need a deflecter kit Halfords are much cheaper.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Hello Malcolm,

I'm also a new member. Is there any chance you could you send me the details as well please? I have just returned from France and had a look inside the headlight (with a mirror) and couldn't see too much. The nearest thing to a lever looked like a tab with a hole in. Didn't fancy trying anything in case it wasn't what i thought it was.

By the way I have a C Class 2007 estate W203 with bi-xenon lights.

Many Thanks

Boysey

Just remember they drive on the wrong side of the road.

But Mike, in this case the wrong side of the road will also be the right side of the road?

But if you do not want to go in that direction you must use one that is left, if that is right, but it may be wrong
