AFAIK there are no parts available from MB to repair the level motors in xenon lights.

I think we had some post a similar thread, in their case a small rod had become detached and could be easily fixed.

I imaging one could replace the motor by canabalising a donor light?

as above, it is most unusual for the motors to ever give trouble, but i have known the linkages to become detatched. an easy test to see if the linkage is connected is to park a couple of meters away from a wall, pref at night, turn lights on and bang the lamp lens with a hand - if the beam pattern jumps up and down it is probably detatched link.

what problems do you have with the light?

well then it definately sounds like a link/ball joint has come astray, last one i was able to pop back into place by pulling back the reflector.

yes most motors are fixed to the reflector by a ball & socket arrangement, the motor having a ball on the end of a shaft which snaps into a socket on the reflector.

Sounds like its just popped out, you will need to remove the bulb cover & maybe the bulb so you pull the reflector back onto the motor.

Be careful as Xenon bulbs overate at very high voltage, make sure everything is turned off first

fixed - i think !

Took car to local prestige car dealer ( we have no MB / inde near us !) he put car on the star and light showed no fault ? he told me the light unit £600 + vat was replacement price or we could have the motors un plugged and the lights in a set position for Mots etc i was still getting back up of the floor when he came out with a hammer ! two taps later it was working again ? ?? Result ! cost £45 ( £25 Star and £20 labour ) wether it will last who knows - would certainly recomend them if you in Lincolnshire Kevin Martin Scunthorpe very helpful :D
