yellow light

this may sound a daft question but what is the yellow light on the bottom of my rear view mirror for?, the car is a e220 cdi, year 2000, thank you

dont think so, theres a little pcb in top right hand corner of mirror i thought that was the auto dimming, but i could be wrong, its just a yellow light that shines down on radio and heater controls

It's just that - an ambient light for aesthetic appeal.

Bizarre for sure - went through the same process myself !!
