I don't know haven't tried on the standard wheels yet.

However 22' wheels with 35 profile tyres can never be as good as 17's with 55 profiles on - What width / profile tyres have you got on yours

58 ML-320CDI.
255/50-19 on the ML-420CDI
255/60-17 on the ML-270CDI

Both came with this size as OEM fittment.

I have 285/35's

You've got the ML55 though - so it may have rather different suspension to mine. What was it like on 18's when you got it, or has it always had 22's on?

Not sure what you're saying though - the 420CDi is the W164 the 270 is the W163 - totally different cars.

The W164 was designed to take larger wheels as all these newer cars seem to be....

I have both W164 & W163, as per my signature.

If you look at the overall diameter of the wheel / tyre combo, they are the same - 738mm Dia.

Ride is harsh enough on the 19's.

Yeh - imagine what's it's like on 22" rims and 35 profile tyres!
