Yet another MP3 question

I've searched through the forum and I think I 'get it' but I want to know which MP3 player will give me most flexibility for navigating tracks and also keeping the MP3 player charged.

I recently got a 2004 E class estate with Command which has the Aux option displayed along with CDC and Radio and also the connection in the glove box which fits my MP3 headphones so I know it takes a 3.5mm connection.

My current MP3 player is my android smart phone so will this allow me to navigate music? (I'm guessing not). If I have to get a new MP3 player it's no big deal so which one will be best for keeping permanently in the glove box, will recharge off the cable and allow navigation of tracks from the steering wheel?

Cheers.

This is not my subject but there is no way that you can charge, power up and use the steering controls from that 3.5mm socket

hi the only one you can control via steering wheel buttons are ipods but you will have to buy the kit and have it installed.

As per above, ~£200 for the kit and ~£200 for fitting for the ipod kit. Or continue to use your unit via the 3.5mm jack socket and select ths music on the unit.
