Hello all,
Happy New Year and all that.
I have been a member for a while but this is my first post after digesting loads of info from all of yours!
The reason for the post is that today I put a deposit down for a 2004 C220 CDI Elegance. It's done 80k but seems in very good condition for its age. The story I got from the dealer is that it has sat around since late 2011 when the prev owner passed away and his missus didn't drive so was just started periodically.
I pick it up on Saturday so I will try to post some pics soon, fair weather permitting!
I have had a 5 year break from Mercs as I was a disgruntled A140 owner for a while and was not impressed! Steering column replaced @ 37k under sig warranty, air mass sensor failed @ ~45k (£450+fitting for new ECU housing), rear trailing arm bearings & broken coil springs around the same time, which I did myself.
I am sure I will have better luck with this one!
Anyway, thanks for all the great newbie advice on other posts which resulted in this purchase and I look forward to contributing in future.
