Hello again, once I find myself back here to ask for yet more advice.

I have just noticed a definate creak from the rear nearside suspension on my w123. That'll learn me to drive with th radio off!

I have bounced the rear of the car and it is definately from the n/s/r, and it occurs during any suspension travel, not just as it passes through a certain point.

I have recently had the anti-roll bar off to do some welding, the bushes looked relatively new and in good nick, it went back on with no problems.
I replaced both droplinks at this point too.
I had disconnected the damper at the bottom as one of the bolts had sheared. The bottom of the damper was twisted to make access to drill out the sheared bolt, but it wasn't span round and round.
I gave some friends a lift yesterday, and a fat bird was sat in the back on that side.

It does appear to have came on very suddenly, I have not had a look underneath yet, but my immediate thoughts are towards a dodgy damper. If this is the case, how much am I looking at for a new pair? How easy are they to replace? Are factor ones ok?

Thanks in advance!

Your Mercedes
Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
Does it go away when driving through rain, or on wet roads?

Thanks for the reply Parrot,

It does seem to get a bit better when it's wet.

I've also noticed that it doesn't need much suspension movement for it to make the noise, even driving along cobbles is enough to make it continuously creak.
