Hi,

For those of you who use Zymol wax which variant is the best to use. I have noticed they vary in price significantly but I'm thinking about going for the one priced around the £50 mark.

Have any of you used this or recommend a particular type.

Thanks.

various
I use Zymol and spent about 100 quid on my kit. Gave great results but lots of effort. Check out detailingworld.co.uk as there are many other comparable products out there.

I used Zymol Carbon Wax and won a competition judged by Vertar winning £100 worth of goodies. I used it to get some Titanium Glaze. Both were very good, the glaze being better, and I think are better than the Meguiars stuff I have used.

I believe the Carbon version is recommended for Darker colours, mine is a silver and so not sure which one to go for.

The Cream version contains 33% Carnauba whereas the Carbon contains 37% Carnauba. Obviously the more Carnuaba content the better and smoother the finish.

There also seems to be specific types for Volvo's and Saabs that contain 37% Carnauba and so I'm wondering if this is just a marketing thing and if it would be suitable for Mercedes paintwork. They are all the same price and so I'm thinking why not go for the ones with 37% Carnuaba. Do you think the Volvo or Saab one would suit the Mercedes paintwork or is it best not to take the risk? I ask this because they are for all colours whereas the Carbon type is just for dark colours?

Thanks.

Email your question to Vertar and they will tell you the correct one to go for.

I notice that the more exotic your toy the more expensive the Zymol polish you have to use on it. Viz;
Bugatti Royale £7118.00 (small jar)
Bentley £1852.00
Bugatti 57SC £1116.00
Ferrari £360.00
Porsche £95.00

I bought their cleaner wax , £12 from Halfords.(smells nice, reminds me of the old days on holiday when the girls used to cover themselves with coconut oil sun lotion)

The guy i use to detail my cars occasionally slated the Zymol cleaner wax but i've used it and imo it was good , i finished it off with Mothers pure carnauba hard wax which was excellent and went on great , gave a glassy finish

The price difference on many of these waxes is down to the amount of carnauba wax in the product the Swissvax range for example go from 30% carnauba to 60% and subsequently from £40 - £1300.

I tried the 55% Mystery wax on my car which is £300 per tub and the results were not noticably better than the Zymol cleaner wax and Mothers pure or even the Mequires range of which i am also a big fan

£1300 (or more) for a tub of polish?

Its utter stupidity bordering on insanity.

I'm with you on that one. Mine might get a wash every few weeks but as it takes a couple of hours to do properly I can't (won't) spare the time to justify even a fraction of that amount.

Some people must have a lot more time on their hands than me!

My last car went for one whole year only being cleaned by mother nature.
My MB does get a tad more attention than that, but not so you would notice, although I did actually wash'n'wax it at the weekend as special treat.
Christ above - its a CAR - not part of the crown jewels.

more money than sense or easy come easy go?

Maybe.
While I stand by the principle that says "its your money, so what you do with it is your business".
That just doesnt make any sort of sense to me.
The last bottle of polish I bought cost £1.99 in Woolworths.

And to think some people only wash their car once a year, whether it needs it or not.....................................:)
