In my slightly irked state, I emailed Affalterbach before I headed off to work Tuesday. Got a response within 24 hrs, and their updated response via MB UK is:

Following enquiries with our Technical Department I can confirm that the P30 AMG Performance Pack does not include a Limited Slip Differential. This pack does however include the following:

- a power increase 30hp
- carbon fibre spoiler lip
- variable intake manifold painted in titanium grey
- brake calipers painted in red
- AMG high performance composite braking system with composite brake discs at the front
- AMG performace steering wheel in nappa leather/Alcantara

So..... Acid 1 : 0 MB Dorchester!

Gutted for you, though every cloud and all that...

The Quaife is a better proposition than the MB diff, so at least you know that, if you decide to fit it, you'll have the superior option to leave those nice number 11's on your dealers forecourt. :) As opposed from the number 1 it would leave now...

Check with Paul at Eurocharged to see if he still has a diff from his group buys, I'm sure he would have something or, if not, be able to access one for you.

Indeed, thanks gents.

Looking for an option that leaves a No.2 on the dealer forecourt... :)

I've two dogs so I can provide plenty of that for you. That way even if they DNA test it. They will only be able to start a nationwide search for two dogs that can post mail. :D

Right, email from dealer late this afternoon... (I sense lengthy discussions at their end).

Sales chappie has asked if I want him to call me "to discuss this". To which I replied yes, it's getting a bit irksome scrabbling a tyre every time I pull out of my road, even with gentle throttle applied.

Came off a roundabout this eve, 3rd gear, car straight, accelerate briskly (but not THAT hard) from 30 mph and the car squirmed. TC light blinked a few times. Didn't go over 4750 rpm!

Keep us updated, want to hear what he has to say.

I will indeed Matt. I'm intrigued - he's sent me emails clearly stating that they believe it to have the LSD.

And by wanting to "discuss" it, clearly acknowledge there is an issue... but what they will actually say or do, well...

I think that is the only decent course of action open to them.

It would have to be the right colour of course...

Joking apart though, I've been told they can't retrofit the LSD and I presume an aftermarket option will have some bearing on the Used Approve warranty.

So, Palladium Silver then :D

Joking apart though, I've been told they can't retrofit the LSD and I presume an aftermarket option will have some bearing on the Used Approve warranty.

It will only affect the warranty on the actual diff itself, nothing else. Plus the fact that they won't know it's there anyway. Let's face it, they don't know what it has now and they have a data sheet for it, how are they going to know if you fit a Quaife in it?

I can only think that, whilst it would be nice to be offered a chunk of cash to spend on it, you'll probably be offered free servicing or similar, just to try to keep the peace.

Best off just approaching them with an open mind, being polite though firm in the fact that you haven't been given what you specifically asked for. Pointless going in all guns blazing as you're just going to get them to put their shields up on you.

Let us know what's happening though, genuinely interested in this one. :)

That 507 wagon looks very cool. Think I actually prefer wagons to saloons and coupes.

Estates are much cooler. His problem is it's in the dealer just down the road :p

Rotorhead500, take advantage of the quaife GB and have a diff fitted.. Doubt u will regret it.

Why are you hesitating about retro fitting a Quaife then?

Because I'm in the position of buying a car already fitted with a diff which I would prefer. Less hassle and stock equipment...

But if I had a C63 which was a keeper Id go ahead and have a diff fitted...
