Yeah, had a look around that one on Monday whilst being told my car did have the LSD.. Then didn't...

I don't like red cars though. I'd have the estate, no problem.

Red cars are faster though, I would have that in a heartbeat

It was quite cheeky. I just don't like red cars.

If it were Tenorite or Palladium I'd be tempted to see if they'll exchange... if they'd forego the £20k balance! :)

Just had a conversation with sales chappie...

He is going to enquire of their technical chappies as to whether an LSD is actually retro-fittable. That will at least present another option to consider.

It is marring the enjoyment as the car squirms far too readily at present; as I see it the options are:

1. Put up with it. (Not likely).
2. Fit the LSD (whichever version, and is most likely).
3. Sell/exchange the car for one that has the LSD.

He will email me with the update over the next day or so.

Join me tomorrow for the next exciting episode of...

I smell a rat here!

First you 'discover' the car has no diff. Next Clarkson is suspended for 'punching a colleague'.

Are you the next TG presenter? ;)

Chased twice since Sunday...

His techs now think a retrofit may be an option, but likely to be expensive. (Very much up to them as far as I'm concerned!)

Now reverting to "not heard issues of non-LSD cars squirming before..." And asked if I can drop it in so they can run diagnostics and see if the traction control needs adjusting!

Asked if my local guys could run the diagnostics to save me a 200 mile round trip... And was to.d they could but it would be preferable to take the car back to them as they "know the full story!"

Surely if there are issues with the TC, they'll flag on STAR at any dealer, regardless of their awareness of the Does/Does Not have LSD scenario?

Tell them you'll make the 200mile trip if they pay for the fuel!

Sorry I wasn't meaning that was your concern.

As you say if there's an issue any STAR machine would pick it up.

You'd hope!

I get the distinct impression they know they've dropped an orb and are now in full smoke & mirrors mode! :-(

Wilco squire!

Even if they say "bu55er off", I'd rather they just accept the fact that something's amiss, and then get on with it! :(

The plain fact is you were sold a car that was incorrectly described as having an LSD fitted. You were misled.

Now it's proven your car is without said diff, I think the onus is on the dealer to come up with a solution that involves the car getting an after market LSD fitted at no cost to you. This is what they are baulking at and sending messages about to taking the car for traction control testing. Like you, I wouldn't be open to that if it costs time and money.
I believe they need to accept you are willing to have any traction control testing done at your local dealer, but whatever the outcome, you are looking for an LSD fitted FOC to bring the car up to the specification you believed the car you bought already had.
The good thing is, you are in the driving seat (pun intended) as the dealership have more or less admitted false advertising.

Update:

Just shot out to get mine on STAR to appease the dealership, and surprise surprise, no traction control issues! (It did however flag a "defective transmission control unit", which they've just confirmed will be done under warranty...)

So, still no LSD...... I've run them through the various avenues open to us as I see them (both desirable and non-desirable) - sales chap is heading off to speak with his service & sales managers and will come back to me tomorrow.

What was the issue with the TCU? Missing Diff? :p :p

Seriously though hopefully the end is in sight with a decent resolution for you. :)

It came up with "LOL" in the diff section! ;-)

To be fair, they have turned around confirmation of the TCU being under warranty in short order today - admittedly my email didn't leave it open to discussion.

I just hope tomorrow brings some productive suggestions re the LSD! :???:

Updated update:

Service & sales managers are now having a meeting with the dealer principal on Monday...

As the car now has to return to them for the TCU warranty job on the 8th April, I'm hoping there will some resolution in place before then!
