I think that’s part of why F1 is losing fans at the actual races. It’s an expensive day out if you don’t get lucky with any offers and the food isn’t always great. You can get a better day having a bbq/food at home with a few friends round.

I’m hoping to do Silverstone this year if I can wangle it around work. However I’d take a pack up in with me!

I have it all booked up already for 12 of us, General Access tickets and Camping in "Silverstone Woodlands"

http://silverstonewoodlands.co.uk/formula-1-2018/

We take all out food and booze with us in wheeled trolleys and BBQ every evening along with full cooked brekky every morning

We go up on Thurs AM and come back on Monday AM

I attended the Abu Dhabi GP in 2014 and, including drinks and food, I spent close to £400 on race day.
It's a ridiculously expensive sport to watch live, and despite cameras all around the circuit, you can't beat TV coverage along with the commentary of what is happening offscreen. I have no intention of watching another live, its not worth the money.

Yep, take food with you unless you want to shell out a fiver for a burger or a pulled pork roll.
I saw the MotGP there in 2015 from the National pit straight. Its a good view there for Luffield as well but a nightmare leaving the circuit along with 100k other people.

Yup, they have a food market there now on what was Bridge corner but it is hideously expensive

A nightmare leaving the circuit along with 100k other people.

That is why we leave on Monday, go to the post race concert and then there is entertainment in the camp site after

I seem to recall when we went to Spa it wasn't too bad for cost. It was a few years ago so things may have changed of course!

I had the good fortune to go to Suzuka for the 2013 GP, and whilst the racing wasn't the best, it's a great circuit for spectators, and the whole weekend was run superbly, with a great atmosphere.

The marshals were worth the visit alone - great entertainment.

Vettel on pole with Ham and Bottas 2nd and 3rd. Kimi was on for pole until he went a bit fast and furious at T15

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good 3 way fight between Merc, Ferrari and Redbull.

The midfield racing was pretty good all the way through I thought. Lewis was definitely lucky to get that result. I do feel very sorry for Bottas.

Eddie Jordan talking this race up as a classic. He must have watched a different race to me.
It was OK, nothing more. Where was all the wheel to wheel racing and constant change of race leader?
When the safety car decides the result, I feel cheated. Vettell was far and away the best today but the Red Bull incident cost him a win.

The F1 season does look a bit more lively than last year's, so far.

Proposal:
Mixed races, with F1 cars and MotoGP bikes competing. Cars should be quicker on some tracks, bikes on others. Bet Bernie would go for it.

Although having a similar top speed MotoGP bikes wouldn't stand a chance. Their cornering speed is too slow in comparison.
Can you imagine the carnage if a rider fell off in front of an F1 car:shock:

Agreed , albeit Vettels typically hot headed and Ill cinsidered move after the final restart was comedic!

It was, but I kind of salute him for going for broke, even if it did cost him WDC lead. He seemed pretty cool about it afterwards... Hopefully putting his demons behind him this year!

I don’t disagree - I do like the drivers having a go! However ( as we saw with the RB duo) they generally don’t win last Ng term!

What was it that Senna said. If you don’t go for a gap you’re not a racer.

Fair play to Seb. He took a gamble and it didn’t pay off.

Lewis was lucky but I think he needed that after Australia where he was robbed.

Agree Ferrari/Seb was the better car and deserved the win. But sometimes things just don’t go your way.

Both the Red Bull boys made me chuckle during their Lee Mc interviews.

Christian had clearly given both sets of man-veg a firm squeeze & twist!!! o_O

I do think it’s sebs title to lose this year unless Mercedes comes in with some upgrades. The Ferrari looks a much better car this season. Has the cycle turned this year like it did with Ferrari then red bull then Mercedes. I also think mercedes passed on there upgrade to Force India to try and take on red bull to get the heat off Mercedes
