Frontstep, so nice to see your crystal ball is still working and you can predict that we will do so well.

If you would be so kind, could you please consult it and ask it what the winning EuroMillions numbers are? I'm sure you won't have any use for them as you seem to dislike anything to do with the word Euro but I might find them useful.
Is your crystal ball more accurate? no one can know what the future holds, the Leavers think optimistically and the Remainers pessimisticaly neither can be called right or wrong yet.

I'm not predicting anything. I'm just saying what I believe we need to do and pointing out the pitfalls.

Dave (in the main) tells how things are (slowing economy, falling pound, inflation - funnily enough all predicted during the referendum campaigns).

We will reimburse you from the winnings.. OOps just had a deja vu moment. didn't this happen before when DC decided to call a referendum.

Your right we were promised pestilence and flood, all fear and lies spread by the short thinkers starting the day after the vote, we got almost the opposite we have had though had a long overdue correction in the pounds value which has led to a long needed surge in exports or sales for Britain PLC.
A true double edged sword but its value does seem to have settled.

Certainly a period of uncertainty in many areas to be overcome but the opportunities are vast for the people who make the money that pays for the public services we all need and enjoy.

A good new story in the Guardian of all places;
Jaguar Land Rover to recruit 5,000 staff after record year of sales

https://www.theguardian.com/busines...ruit-5000-of-staff-after-record-year-of-sales

There are many more the future is a lot brighter than the doom mongers foretold.

Freed from Euro La La Land an institution obsessed with its own survival and indifferent to the long term damage its policies have inflicted we will fly.
This is good this will only leave 75,000 to find employment when the Euro Clearing house is relocated somewhere within the EU.

Never mind all that...

- Just peek in and tell me 1) when my pound will go back to being worth 100% against Johnny Foreigner (it's STILL 15% less since the day after the vote despite being told "Don't worry, currencies go up and down all the time) and while you're at it please also have a look 2) when the inflation rate (still almost 3% but BOE Carney says it's going to get worse) and 3) will actually start to go down again?

Depends on who gets to make the decisions, It would seem Europe is in the driving seat.

Ah yes, but when I said at the very beginning that we would end up doing what they want because they're 27 and we're 1 I was told that was rubbish and they had too much to lose etc...
- And what did they do on the first day?
- Surprise! They followed Barnier's opening agenda (and I haven't even got a crystal ball).

btw:
Nobody took me up on the estimated "bill" from the EU - I think they will want €60Bn - no facts and figures why, just the odd headline over the last year or so.

Small price to pay to get back our independence.

Look at the mess the Greeks are in because of the E.U.
They are now Germany's bitch.
We are best out of it.

Please: Go and read ALL about the Greek situation and how they got there before you say "because of the EU".
I like the Greeks and they people have been screwed - by people who were making money and as usual: politicians...

But the truth is they fiddled their figures to join the EU, they lied when it was queried and fiddled them again. THEY (or to be precise as everywhere), their politicians borrowed money - enormous amount of money; they asked to borrow it - nobody wicked held a gun to their heads. And as they borrowed more and more they didn't worry about repaying it and the population thought it was all wonderful until they couldn't keep up the payments and then when they had to ask the IMF for loans to pay back the loans (after about half of it had been written off in 2011), they (understandably) upset the population by finally telling they would have to make cuts to pay for it all. The cuts are very painful for the population but it was caused by their politicians borrowing money - it's no different from people loading their credit cards to the hilt -art some point they have to pay up or go bankrupt.

We have a similar bad joke in UK today - the Tory/LibDem coalition commissioned the Hinkley Point nuclear site, which will receive an estimated subsidy of £30bn – it has just been condemned as a “high cost and risky deal” by the head of the National Audit Office (NAO).

National Audit Office slams Government’s ‘high cost and risky deal’ for Hinkley Point nuclear power station

It was supposed to add £15 to annual electricity bills up to 2030
As usual guess who pays - the population - just like the Greeks in their situation!

And don't forget ever penny we borrow to pay for things is more expensive than it would have been because we lost our AAA credit rating (and S&P are hinting they may lower it again depending on Brexit progress).

And then there's the abominable HS2...
Original Cost.......: £32.7Bn
Government now.: £55.7 Bn
In 2010 In 2016 the NAO said HS2 Ltd were running £7bn over budget, a fact which was not contested by HS2 Ltd.
Therefore official cost: £63bn.

I suggest you delve a bit deeper into your Greek history.

You could even look up how many "rules" France and Germany broke look for stability and growth pact then there's that long forgotten quantitative easing carried out by the EU we are so lucky to be out of the Euro madness and leaving the EU.

The grossly over priced Hinckley Point debacle started in 2008.
HS 2 another vanity project was proposed in 2009 to match similar projects in Euro La la Land particularly Spain France and Germany.
So two overpriced vanity projects started by you know who.

All those ministerial trips to la la land fuddle the brain........trying to keep up with the gross excesses across Europe is something we are well out of.

Good job you reminded us of the madness we leave behind aren't we lucky.

What you forget is that France, Spain and Germany all have a better infrastructure than the UK. UK roads are a joke (even motorways), rail links are no better. We don't even own our own power generation plants nor can we survive without importing gas in spite of the large reserves offshore. Vanity or not something needed (and still needs) be done to improve the existing third world level infrastructure of the UK.

I agree, London desperately needs at least one more Tunnel or Bridge between Blackwall and Dartford!

Oh and the Dartford crossing should be toll free!

If I remember rightly,at the time of the Greeks joining of the euro the germans said that they had met all criteria for inclusion.
The bending of the rules was not only done by the Greeks.
Yes the Greek people have been well & truly screwed not only by there own corrupt officials but also by the corrupt officials who occupy Brussels.
Only by going back to the Drachma will the Greeks not continue on the downward path.

Am I missing something?
Another crossing in south east London was recently approved (10yrs to complete!).
The dartford crossing tolls benefit a French company...

The Greeks are screwed because tax avoidance is a tradition there.
