Inbetween rain clouds, had a good wash today and then waxed with turtle wax paste wax. Not used it before and is 1/5th the price of autoglym HD which is my normal tipple.

What did you think of the Turtle Wax?? I use this and find it excellent

You get what you pay for- £10 turtle wax isn’t great. I couldn’t justify £50 on autoglym in December.

Thanks, the alloys won’t be changing though. These 20s will be getting refurbed in January but that’s all.

Ah, thought you was changing um, they are nice 5 spokes, still stick to silver though.

It’ll either be silver or shadow chrome. Undecided.

Appreciate that it’s not summer but, have the tinted windows made much difference on the inside of the car? I was thinking of doing mine (see avatar) but with the blue/grey I don’t think the full on drug dealer black will work as well as it does with black paint.

They’re fine. I drive at night regularly and can see perfectly. I have a very light interior so during the day they’re also not that dark.

I've had quite a few cars tinted, always at Pentagon autotint, always go for smoke all round, never had trouble with MOT or plod.
And no problems at night,
looks just right.

Time for an update. New purple led lights under the doors and in the foot wells and I tinted the courtesy light covers in the rear of the cabin. A double layer of “purple” (I wouldn’t call it purple) was applied and it really took away the harshness of the standard yellow bulbs.

Do you mean that you coat the existing bulb in something to change the colour ?

Nope not the bulb. The clear plastic rectangle.

Tomorrow new HIDs being installed as the old ones were an led bodge job. (Previous owner). Also hopefully getting lowered soon.

Been quiet over Christmas but now that’s out the way I can get back to the car.

Just before Christmas I suffered a cracked alloy due to a previous botched repair which also annihilated the tyre. Fun. I managed to get a proper professional job done on the wheel which although temporary, gave me the opportunity to source another wheel and still have use of my car (many thanks Herts Wheels St. Albans).

Today I have also had my lowering links installed and new HIDs installed as the previous led headlights were pathetic. (Previous owner).

Yeah I wasn’t overly impressed. The tyre was utterly shredded as obviously the tyre lost 100% of its pressure.
The repair I’ve had done cannot be guaranteed for obvious reasons however, I’m pretty pleased with the work and it should hold up for a while.

Looks good to me, if done properly it should be no problem, a refurb on the wheel and it will be perfect
