The issues you will have are:
Offset. Does the wheel tyre combination foul the rear suspension? Does it clear the wheel arches? Does the centre line of tread sit in the same place so as not to upset wheel bearing loadings or suspension loads?
Interior diameter. Does the wheel clear the caliper?

Like I have said twice already try it. Take a front wheel off and put it on the rear to see if it will fit. Then you will have your answer.
I have suspicions they will not fit but unless you try it you won't know for sure.

Just saying you 'don't want to' makes you sound like a spoilt brat wanting someone else to do all the work for you.

Again, he cannot be bothered to do a bit of research. May well work like he wants it to for unknown reasons, as he knows better than Mercedes. 17 inch wheels are marginally narrower and the same offset. Swap them out as you please, but if something brakes don't come crying.

Edited in regards to width of wheel.

When you try it measure from centre of tread on the left to right rear wheels with the original tyres and repeat with one changed.
Also measure inside of tyre to inside of tyre.
If the tread centres align you should be ok (providing the wheel fits over the disc and caliper). If that measurement is NOT the same then as long as the inside of tyre to inside of tyre is not greater than the original measurement +10mm it should be fine. It cannot be narrower other wise it may upset handling.

No, there are a couple of scenarios.

1. Asks for helps, gets reply says thanks. - most folks.
2. Asks for help, gets reply never comes back - a fair few folks.
3. Asks for help, gets reply then argues that reply is wrong or unhelpful. ' some folks like OP.
4. Asks for help, gets reply then ignore advice and then moans when it goes wrong. - Callum.

If I knew for a fact the answer to the OP's question I wouldn't tell him.
He needs some serious attitude adjustment. Presently it stinks.

Why don't you offer to go to his place and swap his wheels to explain and show him, if he fails to accept your view then, there is always the tyre lever...........

Nice idea but I have better things to do than assist people who don't deserve it.

Just answer this for me please. Why do you want to go 245 on the rear?

winter driving, decreased road noise and reduce tracking on uneven roads.

You'll probably feel little difference regarding tracking (front is where that's more noticeable). Noise will be around 5% less at best (the contact patch is still more or less the same size - just a different shape).
There will be a slight improvement in resistance to aquaplaning.

yeah, probably not worth the additional expense.

My honest advice is this. If it is only for winter driving find a set of 17s. That way there is no need to swap tyres every time. 17s will give a comfier and more compliant ride due to the higher sidewall and a set of tyres will be cheaper as well. Although beats me as why biggers tyres are more exoensive when there is less rubber.
