I started with the SLR in 1964, 600 yards was the furthest I ever fired. I didn't know we had 1,000 yard ranges, was that on battle sights?
Indeed. A very long downhill range with great shelter too! :DIm not even sure where it was now. Near Dartmoor perhaps where we did our orienteering
1961

Just had the CLK aircon fully serviced and gassed . Can’t recommend https://www.auto-kool.co.uk/enough , very professional guy been in the business for 15 years .
Turns out my car had plenty of gas but almost no oil , which is thanks to me paying for cheap jobs at the tyre garages that have aircon machines .
I paid £75 , so for the extra £25 on what I would have paid for a real cheapie I’ve actually got oil in . That’s me sold on getting the right person to do the aircon in the future . Just booked the Eclass in for next month as that had the same couple of cheap jobs in the past so will undoubtedly have no oil either

Hahaha, you ain't seen nothing yet Blobcat........

Sympathy... (I know, you can do without it when really, what you want has six chambers or more...) but you have to catch the swine first! Its so dreadful - in the "good?" old days, nobody except real scum did that without leaving a note.

Bought a replacement new rear near side ABC strut. Authorised a shedload of suspension work, all bushes and consumables including two new injection moulded ball joints from Star Automotive.

it’s been a long time to be away!

Took my "new" SL350 to Olly at Prestige Car Service @ Horndean for a pre-MoT checkover.

Car passed MoT but Olly advised replacing both front shock absorbers.

As expected really pleased with Prestige Car Service. :)

How is the R class fairing,
Oddly I was thinking where is Craig recently, hope the little ones have all been okay and the new venture going well?

Welwyn Merx tell me they can source struts now at very good prices.

Craig has had a very busy year... one new venture going well, oddly nearing trading, another tried and failed.
The FunBus is going ok, averaging 31.3mpg, slight oil leak at the lower pulley area and the air con system has a leak so that’s U/S.
Little ones are doing well, totally trash the house every single day through lockdown but are generally behaving well...
Front garden totally transformed; land drainage installed in back garden and patio extended, path laid along edge of garage, now planning a wood fired pizza oven; just getting the parts together for a black iron fence across the front.
It’s been a busy lockdown!!!
