Welwyn Merx tell me they can source struts now at very good prices.
Yep... I found a source and passed it on to Phil. Literally a quarter of the price of other suppliers.

Hello Craig Nice to see you back again!
Thanks Dave! Things at work & home just got a bit too pressing for a while, plus my car went in for a very, very long (read- VERY difficult to trace & repair) fault finding exercise. I believe a broken trace in the COMAND 2.5 unit was causing a spurious current drain between 0.01-0.25A, on top of the 1.5A drain of the failed regulator pack. phew.

Craig has had a very busy year... one new venture going well, oddly nearing trading, another tried and failed.
The FunBus is going ok, averaging 31.3mpg, slight oil leak at the lower pulley area and the air con system has a leak so that’s U/S.
Little ones are doing well, totally trash the house every single day through lockdown but are generally behaving well...
Front garden totally transformed; land drainage installed in back garden and patio extended, path laid along edge of garage, now planning a wood fired pizza oven; just getting the parts together for a black iron fence across the front.
It’s been a busy lockdown!!!

I am knackered reading that!!!!!

Two tons of bl00dy gravel went in and 4.5 tons of cr@ppy “topsoil”- scalpings, crushed rubble, builders’ rubbish etc that forms the ground layer of a new housing development- went out.
Oh, and next week the failed 2 year old laminate flooring comes up and new tiling goes down. Got a total steal on the whole job, 450 x 450 x 10mm porcelain Carrara marble effect tiles just delivered.
Plus the FPO painted the front door in a new colour so she’s happy to boot.

Just a tip, We had been having our Railings repainted for years but paint didn't hold back the rust terribly well. About 3 or four years ago we had them Powder Coated and they still look like new. They would have about been ready for re-painting by now. The Powder Coating cost was about the same cost as the preparation and re-painting of the railings. Well worth a consideration :) Oh.....and welcome back :)[/QUOTE]

I thought he had a CLK? Posh git!! ;)
There's a CLK55 that has been parked outside his premises for ages, could be thats Phil's as well. Is the CL500, reg ending WMD, that is parked in the yard yours? Its looking very sorry for itself squatting down on the ground.

Yep, that’s Gunther. Had the dashboard removed for about 6 months while Phil & Gary performed fault finding amid servicing a million thousand Sprinters I think! I know they’ve had a lot of multi drop vans in.
Both front struts have had to come out for new ball joints; rear nearside has failed and it’s replacement landed yesterday. (This ABC lark is easy now!)

Cheers!

I’ve designed this myself. 750mm long 25mm square box section, held down onto the flat garden concrete edging strip by two angle brackets. On either side of the post, an M4 threaded hook that I’ll either drill & tap into the steel, or pop a nut & washer either side of.
Then, I found some black japanned 25mm link chain at Toolstation, so that will link the posts. Some ring bolt chainplates also from Toolstation, and to top them off a website handily called www.ironfinials.co.uk (wonder what they do..?) are selling these beauties for £1 a pop, so I’ll Araldite them in place, Hammerite the assembled posts and job’s a good un. 1E1B25B6-A984-40AF-8500-2EF9E2738D59.png

This is the next project... 608C3859-C8C7-46E5-A8FB-736BBB554C49.jpeg

only I want to add a water smoke extraction filter, and have the flue made out of stainless 4” pipe, not brick.

That's good for a strut! Might be worth replacing the misting one on Malcolm for that....

That’s for a CL; the 230 struts are a bit more iirc. Which one is it, rear offside from memory?

One of the rears. Passenger I think from memory.
A2303200213.

£585 + £115 shipping.

Sorry, mine was $400 USD. The SL struts are all way more costly than those for the CL. No idea why!
