It's much worse than that, it makes the thing look like a hearse. I found a new C300 without it, and I wouldn't buy a car with it either, it always makes me think of council estate drug dealers. Dark glass used to be a delete option with Mercedes, isn't it any longer? Don't want Ron240 to think we're getting at him, but cruise control is another unnecessary feature as far as I'm concerned. I've tried it but it makes me feel I'm not in control any longer. I have no problem at all pushing the right hand pedal up and down to control speed, but I expect I'm in a very small minority with that one.

I use cruise control wherever I can. In Suffolk we have many 20mph zones for example and just to slip it into Cruise Control makes it much easier, 30mph zones too. However the speed limiter is not one I would use, I have my own system, she sits in the passenger seat :)

If my current car was a couple of years younger and a few miles shorter, I probably wouldn't be changing it as I've got it just the way I want it. But, as it is still worth some money and I've always wanted a CLS now seems the right time to change. Privacy glass is not important to me. Lane assist??? not necessary to me. Pan roof not necessary for me. This car has HK sound system which is important to me, 3l v6 diesel engine which is important to me (due a visit to GAD. LED ILS system whic is nice and it's in Premium Plusw spec. Didn't want silver (but it's growing on me) and a black interior which I didn't want, but given my work/life balance might be a blessing in disguise. Plus I can afford it - makes me think I might just go for it!

I’m the same, wouldn’t even consider a car without cruise control, and even starting to think adaptive cc will go on the must have list.....

But I can’t hold an accelerator pedal in one position for 2-3 hours on a motorway without getting some ankle ache - no issue with cc and of course, no speeding tickets either

The 350 V6 is a great engine, & not a bad spec car. My only worry is the there was no 2018 service, so 30K miles between the 2017 & 2019 service.
I have a 2011 E350CDI, had it 9 years & no intention of changing it.

Once you’ve used distronic you won’t go back, just makes travel so easy, especially when you get used to the car leaving a sensible gap between you and the car you’re following

Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad spec, but it isn’t anything special in my mind either, thought the CLS really is limited in choose so do understand the urge

I'm not sold on Distronic....
Have it on the 230 but I'm not convinced.

I wasn’t to begin with Alistair, but once I got used to how it worked then it really makes a difference, especially when I used to travel to Birmingham during rush hour

If it were me, I might hold out for one with Airmatic - and a light coloured interior. Such interiors were available in this period of CLS (like BC's find) - unlike most of the current UK range. And yes, this does mean that my choice of my next MB is severely limited, which grieves me.

I hope so. But for example, there are NO E400d estates, other than the All Terrain, with light coloured interiors. MB UK only offered them in AMG-Line spec where the only interior colour was black. I am watching to see if an All Terrain turns up (hint - if anyone sees one, let me know ASAP!).

I had Alpaca in my 207 and used to have to clean the seats regularly even though I rarely wore anything ”dirty” in it. My GLC has black interior (no choice) and I’ve never had to clean the seats!

Its not a premium plus as no pan roof
As far as I have seen, the CLS never had a pan roof, just an ordinary sunroof. But I have only been looking at Shooting Breaks.

We've had our S212 with its Almond Beige seats for 5.5 years, and haven't regretted it once.
