I thought the VES LEC battles were very clean
It appears the changes in the rules have reigned Max in a bit, which was much needed. So far we've yet to see his kamikaze dives down the inside.

Lewis was quoted as saying this year's car is the worst since his first season. That car took him half a season to master.

But look at George Russell with same car, I think he needs to get his head straight this season as he should be consistently in top5 regardless of car problems...

I think it was unfortunate that every time he got DRS so did Gasly.

Not taking anything away from Russell's result of course!

Lewis is carrying a lot of sensors for data gathering. That will account for a lot of the difference.

I'm a Lewis fan but sorry don't buy that as an excuse, a position or 2 possibly but we are seeing quite a gap....

I'm finally able to view the forum again after whatever was the matter.
Ok the inevitable talk about why the difference between Hamilton and Russell in the same car.
Now Hamilton has quite clearly not suddenly forgotten how to drive an F1 car, so there has to be a logical explanation for what was going on at Imola (and Saudi for that matter).
There is a negative effect of running in dirty air which Hamilton was doing virtually all race, plus his car simply didn't have the power to get past Gasly. Russell on the other hand was running in clean air which is always much easier.
I am certainly not taking anything away from Russell because he is a top class driver, but dont forget that Hamilton would have finished ahead of him in Australia had it not been for the timing of the second safety car.
Based on driving alone it should be 2-2 for Russell and Hamilton and not the 3-1 that it actually is.
Luck is part of racing though and you take the good with the bad.
Mercedes are in a very bad place at the moment...but they should overcome their problems to have a competitive car at some point. Having said that Ferrari and Red Bull are not going to go backwards so it is looking unlikely that Mercedes will be able to challenge for either championship this season.
If Mercedes really are out of the running then I hope Ferrari win it, because Red Bull will be insufferable if they win it this year.

So no dirty air or competitors cars in the way in qualifying, I firmly believe Lewis is having personal issues mentally effecting his performance on track, as in many sports, the psychology does play a part. Many drivers fail under psychological pressure, Lewis has just taken his eye off the ball mentally, I am sure he will recover..

Maybe...it is certainly possible, but purely regarding qualifying Hamilton and Russell are currently level on 2-2.

That’s not only a good point but something that is highly likely given what he has been through and the mental pressure of doing it all again this year. He was so primed and ready to win last year even though ‘**** for brains!’ was given the FIA championship on a plate!!! I just hope his personal coach, and I’ve forgotten her name already, can help him to get through this and finally win his eighth championship this year.
Then the little boys can go play with their car’s on track and win their championship’s.

It's just a bu99er when you suddenly don't have the best toy in the box after all those years of being able to hose everyone off in the straights when you want.
Haha! Yup, I'd be grumpy too!

I felt like that when Tesla came along, enjoyed a roaring sprint with a McLaren 570s one day then beaten by a silent milk float!

Advances in technology...

Remind me wot happen with massa. Anyway I don't like that way of management so voted with feet n remote a Yr of moto gp for a break. I simply don't believe rb won rather it was given to them. Maybe this Yr rb will actually win it. Tho I think mv is a little to dangerous I would respect a competitive win. I respect f a about last Yr.

I see Marko has already started on Ferrari saying Leclec has as much luck as Hamilton
