63 plate CLS shooting brake,2.2D SWMBO has 14 plate B class diesel
Try the below instead…;) (You’re an awfully long time dead…)

SWMBO would love that colour. And I think i could live with it as well, despite the non colour coded mirrors

That is the colour combination of my current car and the colour combination of the SLC I am seeking. The trouble with a SLC43 is my insurance will leap into stratosphere and SHMBO will not sign it off. :(

I could probably get away with an SLC300 I think

An SLC43 is an SLC300... ;)

I'd do a check online - you'll be able to find equivalent (or cheaper) insewerance (if you compare well...;))

The SLC300 is a four pot 250ish BHP as far as I am aware :)

Insurance bumps premium up another £200 for an SLC43 which isn't particularly desperate :(

Back in 1989 I had a brand new BMW520 in white (not my choice). I kept getting asked if I did weddings!
I suppose it is preferable to being asked if you did funerals (black cars). ;):)

I’m not so sure. I’m sure your age and record is a far bigger influencer. My 43 is reasonable to insure.

As for SWMBO, it will purr away gently all day if you want it to and then only become a hooligan when you ask it to.

I've a couple of white(ish) cars on my drive and find them easy to live with, don't show the dirt and look great.

One is a pearlescent and the other is technically a silver but looks very white on times.

Flat white is for coffee.

Two colour cars i would never ever buy ,, one is Black ,,and the second is White. They show up every speck of dirt ..
All of my MB's apart from my current one have been Black. not by choice but by default. OK, Brilliant Blue on my current MB is not exactly a light colour but it does sparkle in the sun :)

My experience with white cars is different (& I’ve owned many) . I find they hide the dirt (as in don’t show it) surprisingly well.

Sorry don't agree, White is a surprisingly good colour for not showing dirt. :)
Agreed, my old Mustang could get utterly filthy and it still looked “white”. My old Vectra could get rained on and would turn from black to grey.

White is my least favourite colour for a car.
Of my 7 MBs I've had 5 have been Brilliant Silver (or a near relative).
The two that weren't were the first one (Black) and the 4th one (Blue). It's not from choice (aside from first one) just the way it's happened.
I actually like silver on a Mercedes. It's the heritage colour.
I've had pretty much every other colour of car too. Metallic gold (factory name was 'hot mustard')

wasn't as bad as it sounds though Roman Bronze isn't one I'd seek out again. Likewise this one (my SD1 looked exactly like this).

The green cars haven't been any less lucky than any others and have probably been the most common colour I've had (9 compared to 6 silver).

Edit:
Just checked and the Capri looks more likely to have been Copper Brown metallic.
Whatever it was it wasn't nice.

My current favourite is Mazda Soul Red, similar to Hyacinth but really pops.

My Granddaughter has a Mazda 2 in that colour and it looks great. I think it is nicer than Hyacinth, it has a certain sparkle to it. My Brother in Law has a CX5 in that colour too. It's a colour that seems to suit the whole Mazda range. Whilst we are talking Mazda the build quality/panel fits are second to none :)

I had a brown BMW - sound much worse than it was - the colour "Jatoba" was the best thing about the car...
It was also the first 5 series in that colour in the UK... I'd picked it off a colour sample so bit of a leap of faith at the time
Wow the car must have been a 'shed' - brown the worst colour - however I would never get a red one as the police used to love red cars...
