Cars do not have an import marker on them,,,only on the V5
So could it mean i have a CL500 but bored out and refitted to look like a CL55?
617 headlamps and fog lamps or additional high beam light, amber, and additional halogen fog lamp (from april 1st, 1970); additional turn signal lamps for italy, and rear turn signal lamps, orange
xenon headlight asymmetric, left driving traffic (с 01.03.1994)
Yeah thats what I meant Malc if it aint got an import marker on the V5 then it MUST have been supplied by a UK Dealership !!
617 = Xenon headlamps, Lefthand traffic
No mention of the rest. Your definition looks like a generic decode.
In my eyes it is a proper cl55.
When im at work tomorrow i will find out the correct details of the vehicle ie engine to chassis number and see what i come up with
The official MB sales designation is CL500
Davis810 - you say it has full service history, do you have the service book?

Call it what you like but why have LHD lamps on a UK car
All AMG engines are silver!!!
Yes ive got the service history
Because we drive on the left?
Good point I wonder when that was issued, the dates of the first service should say a lot, and with who did it
not according to the original order and a few other thingsi must point out that the engine number in his V5 - 113 986 - IS A CL55AMG ENGINE.
the exhaust is correct for a non supercharger car.
if the O/P confirms the engine is stamped according to the number in the V5 then this has all been rather a storm in a teacup................
the books first service shows 17/4/01 with 10.997 miles
