A Class Starting trouble and rattle

I have a 2011, A160 1500cc, with less that 11,000 miles. The last two days I've had trouble starting the car and there is a rattling sound that appears to come from under the car. The noise is the same whether or not I'm in gear. It's going for it's first service in two days but I'm worried that I might be damaging the engine. The only thing I've checked is the oil level and that's ok.

When you say you have had trouble starting the car, what exactly do you mean? Does it crank over but not start? Does the engine not crank at all?

It cranks over 3 - 6 times slowly before starting

Would that continue to cause a rattle / tapping noise?

Had to phone the roadside assistance this morning to get the car started.
Eventually drove it to the dealers. Parked up, and they couldn't get it restarted.

Have got the same car with intermitent non start turn over no fire, been in local dealership £400 later after crankshaft sensor still the same. No dtc stored.
