When the car doors are open my power windows work open and close but as soon as all doors are closed, no go cannot open or close the windows???

Anyone has a solution for me on this pls? Possibly a relay problem?

This is as it should be, with ignition off you can operate the windows if you open a door. Once a door is closed, only be turning on the ignition will you be able to operate the windows.

I really dont understand this car....now it gives me another problem. When pressing the key fob to open or close....both red and green leds flash at the same time on the door as well as the rear view mirror for about 45 seconds. The car starts the central locking opens etc. etc. but these flashing lights are new what do they mean and what can be done get back to normal.

1) I have disconnected the battery left it for about 2 minutes and re connected, same problem.

2) I have synced the key fob....same problem.

I still have the problem with the power windoes not opening when all doors are closed as well (yes the ignitian is on and still they dont open.)
Will ckheck the relay as suggested over the weekend thx.

change the batteries in the fob, and use the forum search facility to find out more about this low battery warning.

I had cause many years ago to call upon Mobilo to get my car (W202 C180) going after the immobiliser refused to let go of my car. The car unlocked and locked fine but inserting the key and turning did nothing.

When the chap from mobilo came out he quickly disabled the immobiliser which shocked me when I saw how simple it was. It takes about 5 minutes thats all.

I'll PM you the solution.

EDIT: Cant send you a PM as they are not enabled for you. Send me an email to sales@comand.co.uk and i'll reply with the solution.

would this be likely solve the problem on a c220 d (read info in electrics ,info required

For all on this post there is Key reproduction software with reader all over the internet buy this and code and recode your own. Also there are many internet products out there that will allow you to write the immobilizer completely out of the DME or ECM period. LIKE the BDM100 DO your homework it is not simple please do not ask me to explain how, i do not have 1yr to answer this question or teach it will come at great learning to ( RECODE, FLASH, READ/WRITE get the hint :) The new BDM 100 is a start. You can read everything from ROM/ RAM memory when you recode write out immobilizer all together but this process will be bench. And even with a bad checksum

Definate product sales pitch. Reading up description looks beyond my capabilities. Does ECU need be Motorola and on a bench? Is it applicable to keyfob? I'll stick to splicing two wires if I can find them. Be interested to hear any experience others have?

quote
BDM 100 is a universal reader/programmer (it does not require our RACE software necessarily) that allows the user to read and program files in the ECU supplied with MOTOROLA MPC5xx processor (essential).

BDM 100 requires the ECU to be open, "on the bench", as the reading/programming operations are realized by linking a flat cable to specific area the ECU (the tool, on the other side, is linked to the USB port of a computer).

BDM 100 allows also to create perfect copies of the whole software of an ECU (after having read the original ECU software).

The software allows to read and program the WHOLE ECU content of:
29BL802 SSOP eprom file (or ROM memory with maps if eprom physically not present);
MOTOROLA MPC5xx Processor file;
Serial Eprom content.
Please note that even in the case of the ECU blocking, due to the wrong checksum recalculation, the ECU can always be reprogrammed and then retrieved (if the original software has been previously stored).

Describe the kind of remote key fob that you have?
Are there any lights… red and green… on the rear view mirror or the door handle? If so , in what manner do the flash?
How does your remote key fob preform in the test below?
Exactly what happens when you try to start the car?

New questions in very old thread

I would just like to suggest that if recent posters in this quite old thread had read the WHOLE thread they would not be asking what they are asking. Its all in the thread if you read it from the start as I have.

Here's a tip instead of reading this whole post about a much much discussed issue:
1. Look at Dec's post (#91) about checking your fob.
2. If replacing fob battery and resetting doesn't work, try repairing key fob (mine needed some internal soldering done for £30 by an eBay seller0.
3. Finally if you get really fed up, look at this post by Laffcarl (#50 and #51): http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=29673&page=5

The problem lies with the circuitry of a well used keyfob. Having bought a new replacement fob case it worked reasonably well but occasionally plays up when it comes to the immobiliser. When however I use the card key (which has had virtually no use whatsoever) the car immediately corrects itself and disables the immobiliser.

So its either me, not allowing sufficient time (milliseconds) during the pressing of the button, or a circuitry delay between the locking light and the immobiling light working that causes the problem (IMO)

What did you have soldered? any photo's or explanation?

With the flip out keys it is the tactile switches that come loose or they break a leg on the switch, that is all that needs to be re soldered

I have come across this forum via a google search and need your help. My father in law has a 1996 e320 with whatnu have diagnosed as an immbolizer issue.

If someone could please provide me with the details of how to do the immobilizer bypass it would be greatly appreciated by me, my father in law and most importantly the mother in law!!

I understand I am a new member and as such this may be frowned upon asking for such sensitive information but I have found this club by looking for a solution to his problem. I am an active member of cliosport.net, locostbuilders.co.uk, and rhocar.org under the same username if you wish to look into my history prior to providing me with the information.

I am also happy to provide contact numbers if you would like to speak with me first.

Thank you in advance for your help. If you can't provide the information, if anyone knows an auto electrician in Birmingham who can help that would also be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.

To get the best response to your question, open a new thread and give this the prominence it deserves. Buried in the midst of this thread, it won't.

I wasn't sure on the forum etiquette, I know many forums prefer you to post on a previous related posted rather than start a new one.

And if you do start a new one, more details are needed...

Is it a W210 or a W124?

Does is have a collar that protrudes around the key (when inserted in ignition)?

Do you have red and green lights in the mirror, if so, what do they do?

What specific problems are you having? (coming here with the assumption of diagnosis may be counter productive - I suggest you describe the symptoms, rather than your assumption of the cause of those symptoms)

Last of all, there is no bypass for any factory fitted immobiliser.

Although I've just posted another item about this in another thread, I have the same problem!

I'm in a right blimmin' pickle, as I've had to abandon my 1996 C180 in town today. I can lock and unlock the doors, but have got the dreaded flashing red/green light problem on the mirror.

I can't even tow my car home as it's an automatic, and really can't afford the expense of getting a recovery firm to transport it home.

if anyone can help me disable my immobiliser, I'd be eternally in their debt.

This is the 4th time it's happened this month.. I've managed to get it going after leaving it for 20 minutes on previous occasions, but today I was left stranded.

thanks,
Simon
