Yeah a bit of a journey, but hopefully it's all good now!
The only reason I can think that the wiring and seat motor was messed about with is that there was a fault on it before and a previous owner (or worse, someone who was paid to fix it!) had a go at sorting it out. I can understand why they...
Well its been a while but everything's sorted now. It turns out the reason all the wiring under the seat was such a mess is because the seat base was wrong - out of a different car!
So,the garage fitted a new base and motor to the seat and a new loom from the car to the base, but the...
It was from a dealer but he's not interested - the usual "its a 9 year old car", and "if you don't want it I'll takexit back" BS.
It's got a 2 year warranty on it so I've taken it to my local specialist to have him look at it and decide where to go from there - if it's an easy fix I'll bite...
Well apart from the airscarves everything works fine on both seats. The roof operates while moving on these e class convertibles - up to about 30mph I think - so doubtful they'd need to put anything under there.
Like I said I'll see what happens when I put the new battery in and if it still...
I can't say if it ever worked or not, I only picked the car up on Monday - it's separate buttons to the heated seats though. It's a 2014 W207 E400.
I can't see what the bullets are doing yet, that's why the seat might have to come out - battery arrived this afternoon so I'll try and fit it...
I got some pics - as I said it looks like something's been done under the passenger seat, the control units aren't mounted to the seat frame properly.
But I'll get the new battery in first and see if that changes anything before I take the seat out and have more of a

I've got some pictures, you can see that something's gone on under the passenger seat - as well as some wiring it looks like the control units aren't attached to the seat base properly. I'll get this new battery in over the next couple of days and see if that changes anything before I take the...
Yeah. I agreee with you. I've ordered a new battery which I'm hoping might help with the diagnosis - the rear battery seems fine at about 12.8 with everything off - if I can get the starr/stop going at least that will prove the electrical system is all at good voltage and functioning correctly -...
Yeah, they seem to be, although it looks like someone's had a go at some of the wiring under the passenger seat - not liked its been hacked apart but there are some extra connections under there. I'll put a pic on tomorrow when I get back from work.
Hi all, got this W207 E400 convertible and can't get the airscarf working. I've read lots of other people's threads and posts but they all refer to a fault that the switch lights come on and then go off again. Mine doesn't, the switch lights up (both sides) and stays on, so that would lead me to...
Appreciate that, don't get me wrong the car's not riddled with problems - in fact far from it. Since I changed the rear battery and got the PSE pump rebuilt it's been fine and before I laid it up for winter everything was hunky dory. From a driving point of view I absolutely love it, quite...
Yeah well you've hit the nail on the head there - I used to work in the motor trade and the level of knowledge at the place I worked at (Vauxhall) was absolutely pitiful. The dealers are called "stealers" for a reason and I would NEVER take any car I owned to a main dealer. And I agree the SL is...
Update to the roof problem - today I fully charged the rear battery, disconnected it for an hour then reconnected it again. Now I've got the following additional problems: rear window demist not working (little orange light goes on for about half a second then off), boot release doesn't work off...
Thanks for those, like I said I've never used anything with the gaskets before. What was the torque on the CLK gasket, can't see the values being that far apart.
Hi all,
I need to change the rocker gaskets on my SL500. Happy enough to do the job but just a couple of questions:
Firstly, what torque do I need to put on the bolts when reinstalling the covers? and secondly, I've noticed that on the left (with oil filler) rocker cover there's a separate...
