123 MANUAL GEARBOX

HI ALL,

I have a slight problem with the manual gearbox on my 123 series 200. (1980)

Once in a while, the gearbox decides to play up. The gear lever gets stuck in one gear (usually second) and doesnt come out, needs a whack to get it free....Its always at a random time, not when cold or anything, annoyingly usually happens at a junction or whilst going round a roundabout.

Anyone heard of this? i checked all fluid levels etc, but no joy.

Do i need to replace the box- i hope not

So if you see a big yellow 123 stopped halfway round a roundabout, thats me!

Hi

Have you checked the bushes on the gearshifts rods underneath on the box itself. Where the rods attach to the box.
