I have read threads about the "rasping/baffle type" noise of catatlytic converters and how difficult it is to get rid of this noise even with new cats
I thought it might be useful to share with you my recent experience of this problem
I had suffered from a very noisy rasping cat for some time - I originally thought it was the intermediate silencer - replaced that and then found the rasp was still there on acceleration
Concluded it must be the cat and have just recently fitted a new one to my 1993 124 estate.
I bought the cat from CATS 2 GO on the internet ....good price, good delivery - fitted it ....and now have a beautifully quiet exhaust system
