Does anyone have any information on running a 190 1.8 injection without a catalytic convertor.
Is it possible to replace the exhaust with a none cat version ,and are any other changes required.
Any help would be appreciated

it a piece of exaust pipe put in place of the catalist its that simple look in the breakers yard for the earlier makes and the pipe could easly be found to replace yours " early ones didnt have the cat" so you could have one of those exaustes fitted to your car as long as you dont change the front pipe with the O2 sensor in it this will have to stay on

The Cat- bypass tube
Effectively a length of tubing with two flanges welded on! Very simple replacement of standard catalyst.

190E Catalytic convertor

Hi Jerry

In an earlier post I asked if anyone knew where I could get a complete non catalyst front pipe for my 2.0L 1992 190E. On the 190 (as I'm sure you know) has a complete front pipe from manifold to centre box. Ideally I would like to get the complete front pipe in stainless steel from manifold to centre box but incorporating the treaded hole for the lamda sensor in the correct position.

Did your company produce such a front pipe or only a section to add in to an existing front pipe.

Alternatively, there is a company near me who will fabricate a catalyst free front pipe for me (in stainless steel) with the lamda adapter installed. Not cheap though! Is anyone else interested in having one of these so a quantity discount might apply.

Please let me know.

S/S DE CAT

THEIR NAME IS LONGLIFE S/S EXHAUSTS.THEY HAND BUILD SYSTEMS ON THE CAR.THEY CAN PRETTY MUCH BUILD ANYTHING,PROVIDED THEY HAVE THE CAR.A FULL S/S IS ABOUT £300ISH WITH 25YEAR WARRANTY.I WILL SPEAK TO THEM TODAY BUT IM PRETTY SURE IT WONT BE A PROBLEM FOR THEM AND I ESTIMATE IT WOULD COST ABOUT 170 POUNDS OR THERE ABOUTS ALL READY TO FIT WITH THE LAMBDA SENSOR NUT.OBVIOUSLY THE MORE SYSTEMS THEY DO THE CHEAPER IT IS.ON A SERIOUS NOTE THEY BUILD SYSTEMS THAT ARE BY FAR THE BEST QUALITY AVAILABLE.
