190 LE. how many were made ?

My Dad has just bought an immaculate 190 LE. With it came a nice certificate stating that it was a limited edition model and the certificate was numbered, 812.
We are just wondering exactly how many were made and are they rare or sought after because they are limited edition ??

From memory, the LE was a run out model. Like all manufacturers Mercedes would have had a large stock of 190’s that needed to be shifted before the C class went on sale. Ford and most volume manufacturers do it all the time. Cortina Crusader, Sierra Azure, Mondeo Aspen etc. As the end of line model it would have more kit then a standard 190. If in good condition would be worth hanging on to till this model becomes sought after

The LE came in some special colours and had extra trim features and options as standard. I believe they made about 1,000 of them. They were the run out model for the 190. Nice cars, well built and worth hanging onto imho.
