Hello guys.
I'm having one weird issue with my merc.
It's '89 2.0D automatic transmission.
Since november my car started developing weird 'whistle' noise. This sound start after 40km/h and it's there until 50, recently even up to 60-70. After few kilometers it goes away. There were few warm days in january when I didn't hear that noise. It looks like it occurs only when it's cold. I'm not sure where it's coming from.
In most cases when I let off throttle it will stop, sometimes it will occur when decelerating. If I press brakes ligthly sound doesn't go off so I guess it's not stuck caliper. It's not related to which gear is it in. Transmission fluid level is fine, rear differential too, propshaft bearing is few months old.
I have no idea what it could be, just hope it's not transmission.
I managed to record that sound:

What do you guys think?
