I have a 1991 190 2.6 . about a month ago I was parked with the air conditioner on and all of a suuden my car died I tried restart but no luck. I left the car sit for 1/2hr 45 min and it started up again. but that was justthe begining it seems to occur frequently know I have taken it into a shop where they supposedly know what they are doing and the have changed the wires and fuel filter but it still exsists. Not being a car person I have no idea what to do. It seems to get to a certain temp and then stalls but will always startback up once it sits and cools for awhile...please any suggestions would be great this is very frustrating.

Intermittent heat related faults are always difficult. The only real way to resolve it is to leave it with the garage for a few days and let them leave it running in the workshop. When it dies, do a thorough investigation as to why it died.
I can't quite understand why they would replace the leads and fuel filter as these items would more likely cause a misfire and poor running, not sudden death.
The causes are either - fuel starvation caused by air leaking into the system and causing an air lock which is a common problem in hotter climates and which may have been what the filter was all about, or else electrical with a contact or fractured wire heating up, expanding and breaking the circuit.
Unfortunatly, these things can only be diagnosed when the fault is present, hence the garage should keep the car running in their workshops until the fault presents itself.

I had a similar fault on a Ford many years ago which would just cut out for no apparent reason, sometimes restarting before it even stopped. That was an internal coil that expanded and broke the ignition circuit. It was only found when left running for several hours attached to a diagnostic computer.
Take it back.

Two things that can cause stalling once engine reaches a certain temperature, crankshaft position sensor or OVP(overload) relay. Neither show up on diagnostic readouts and it is usually a case of substituting parts to find the fault, but first check that the fuse on top of the OVP relay has not blown.

The crank sensor failed on both my C43's. The symptoms were heat-related. In both cases the car would run OK when hot but would not restart if switched off. I'd need to wait a while for the temp to drop before restarting.

I agree with what the others above have said. Also - there is a four pinned temperature sender gauge (on the top of the engine head, at the back, right hand side, when viewed from the front of car ) that sends temp info to the ECU. Check the resistances on the four pinned temp gauge are similar to what is shown in the Haynes manual for the car. If the temp sender is faulty it could in theory cause temp related probs.
