Hi
I feel really daft... having got a new pressure washer I cleaned my engine bay...
dumb i know

I avaoided the usual electrical bits, but having started it after cleaning, it ran lumpy...but at least started.
just tried now and theres no way its going to start.

before i take a day off work to get busy with the hair dryer, does anyone have any advise as to bits on the merc that are bad for water affecting them

obviously ill do the distributer and leads and stuff, but wondered if there was anywhere else i should try.

cheers

 I know exactly how you feel. Did the same myself

I rectified the problem by blowing the dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs through with warm air, then squirting them with wd40.

Still ran as lumpy as hell, then noticed that one of the leads was split, so I replaced it (just the one). The water had obviously penetrated through the lead.

Further blow through and squirting session fixed it all. It depends how thorough a job you did though!

At least you have a clean engine bay now though!!

Keep us posted!
Mike.
